Prisoner Found Killed With His Hands and Feet Severed
Muriaé, Minas Gerais, Brazil The Civil Police are investigating the death of an inmate, Douglas Cristóvão Fernandes, 38, which occurred last Monday (12) in a cell at the Dr. Manoel Martins Lisboa Júnior Penitentiary. The crime showed signs of extreme cruelty, as the victim had his hands and feet severed. The perpetrator of the crime, who has confessed, is another inmate, aged 41. The body was found lifeless by prison officers, who immediately detained the suspect. He admitted to having committed the crime, stating that the two had gotten into a fight motivated by homophobia. However, according to the officer in charge of the case, the motive for the crime may not have been homophobia, but rather a warning to everyone inside the prison. It was reported that Douglas was originally from Caratinga and had been part of the Minas Gerais prison system since March 2008. He was transferred to Muriaé in March 2025. In addition to his existing convictions, Douglas still had pending cases to be tried, including one homicide and theft offenses.  |

Obviously a suicide. He held the knife in his mouth to cut off his hands and feet, and then slipped and slashed his own throat. Any graduate of the Colombian School of Forensic Science and Plumbing could see THAT!  |
