If there's one thing I'm bad at, it's providing updates to cases. In June, they arrested Maria's stepfather, Ramon S.G., with the evidence being a footprint of his formed with Maria's blood. He apparently saw Maria's pregnancy as an "obstacle" to his relationship with Maria's mother - he and his partner were trying to conceive a child, but when Maria became pregnant, Ramon's partner started taking birth control pills. Ramon didn't like Maria's partner, and in turn, his interference in her life led to Maria disliking Ramon. He tried to claim that, when Maria was killed, he was in an isolated rural area, without any cell phone signal. However, it turns out his phone was connected to his partner's home modem at the time of the murder. He is being charged with femicide and abortion - he denies the charges. |
