Hmm..
The gun looks like a Taurus 99 left in single action mode with his right hand tightly on the grip while apparently still squeezing the trigger.
Looks like a pretty typical case of a suicide.
and the hammer is still back, cocked. If someone killed him, they were smart enough to leave it that way

Poor guy. Suicide is so devastating to the relatives, especially if there was no hints to a problem in the person's life.

My ex's brother had it 'all'. Great job, girl, car, house, social life, hamster, but one day he was found hanged over the 2nd floor stair bannister. No motive was ever worked out, it was horrendous.
