Would be a lot of money for me as well... Looks like roughly $900+ in cash and the gold value is probably close to that if not more. According to my girlfriend, a Thai national, they'll often display the cash as evidence or to have proof of what the victims had on them in case anything should come up missing when finally turned over to the family(s).
