Honduras. 05/17/2012 In the parking garage of a market place two or three unknown persons took the life of a police officer (54) who was serving as driver of the director general of the national police/Cid.

According to witnesses the officer was leaving the market going to his parked car, with his wife inside, when it was intercepted by 2 and possibly 3 men who shot him in the head and in the side.

Relatives of Avila who were at the scene said the motive for the crime possibly was stealing the gun that he was carrying but others told it was a point blanc execution.

He joined the police force 35 years ago.

He probably arrested one of their relatives. A good cop never really gets recognized until he goes down.

it was his day off and went to the market taking his wife and relatives.
