Re: Pictures From The Russian Invasion of Ukraine
Any form of government can be abused and twisted around to perform violent douchebaggery. Any form of government can find itself, however unlikely given the high concentration of douchebags everywhere, doing good things for awhile leading douchebags to think it is the correct form of government. |

To be fair the driver did try to avoid the body, but he turned a bit too early. Not easy driving when your view is thru a 40mm slit.

If that browny-orange is rust, they look old. Is 7-10 days too quick for rust on steel that's been aflame?

Re: Pictures From The Russian Invasion of Ukraine
That's a lot of "whataboutism Pre-ww2 russia signing the pact with Germany was pure self'intetest. The same as GB & France refusing to protect Czechovakia and effectively giving it to Germany. Then after starting WW2 on German invasion of Poland, the Polish fought with the lies only to be 'given' to Russia after WW2. We then gave the Coassacks back to Stalin! |

Re: Pictures From The Russian Invasion of Ukraine
Here is a question: Why do you think eastern European nations are aligning themselves with NATO and the E.U. instead of Russia? Since nobody is forcing these nations to join NATO or the E.U., why then isn't the prospect of aligning with Russia a more attractive offer? I do not deny that there is hypocrisy at play with the west, especially the U.S. playing the sanctimonious preacher when there has yet to be a viable explanation for Iraq and other intrusive policies in the past. But, my question here doesn't involve right and wrong in geopolitical terms, it is about why nation states choose whom they align with through self determination. What are your thoughts on that? EDIT: Typos EDIT: I do want to mention that - in the absence of a clear understanding of the circumstances at that time - that the west made a huge strategic blunder with not making an effort to normalize a strategic partnership with Russia after the end of the cold war. Things would be a lot different today if there was greater transparency between NATO and Russia. I leave the blame game to those who understand this dynamic better than I do. |
