Re: Pictures From Inside My Mortuary
I wonder what the families would think if they knew you were taking pictures of their dead relatives and posting them on the internet for other peoples pleasure. |

Dude, it's completely anonymous. If you are truly that concerned about their 'sensitivities'...how is it that you looked at the photos? Hmmm...? |

Re: Pictures From Inside My Mortuary
The deceased had been buried for just over 27 years. Family were relocating permanently overseas, and so had the casket disinterred, the remains cremated, so that they could remain with the family. The deceased had been looked after by another funeral home, and had apparently been embalmed. Remains were relatively dry, although a degree of sludge/moisture had accumulated at the base of the casket. Probably partly due to the low water table in that area of the cemetery. No odour so to speak, if anything slightly dank, again due to the moisture present.

Re: Pictures From Inside My Mortuary
Please post more.....very interesting......when I was young, I heard a story from my mom about our local postmaster who was drunk and had died when his house started on fire. (1920) Anyway, the point was, they put wax hands on him for the funeral, and I always wondered about that. If you have any background info, or discussion about what you are doing, (as far as rebuild work, and how you make people presentable) I think everyone would find that interesting as well.
