If people are going to make the choice to not have a child, they could use the ru-486, before 9 weeks (the sooner the better). Late term, as in above... sick. It just seems so wrong on many different levels.

hey I agree too, way too far along. if you were raped or abused give it up for adoption, the person who did that to you is responsible for the hate you have, not the innocents living in your womb that has no choice in the matter. Its not far, babies should be aborted only within in the first month maybe two. That is just wrong. Exactly. Im pro choice too, and completely agree that a termination this late in the pregnancy should only be undertaken if the mother's life is at risk. In the UK (where I live) the maximum limit is 24 weeks which IMO is still too far along. This baby looks even further along than that.....

yeah i'm in the uk too. some babies are actually viable at 24 weeks, didn't one baby survive at 21 weeks? i think they should lower it to at least 18 weeks

My friends baby was born at 25 weeks. She is now 4 years old.

My personal view is that if you abort a few weeks in (whatever the circumstances) there is nothing there other than a few cells. Many women abort for so many reasons. This argument is too huge, and gets people too worked up, and opens up all kinds of arguements.

In my experience, women who have had very early abortions for personal or medical reasons have not made the decision lightly, and are also women with their heads screwed on who know when it is the right time to bring a life into the world. It also takes a long time to get over an abortion, some women never really do. It is a far bigger thing to consider the life for the child, rather than the life for yourself, and that reasoning works both for and against abortion. Hence why I am pro choice.

I agree, 18 weeks is far enough.

And Im also inclined to say that young men who comment against, and call women all the name s under the sun, are usually the ones that have absoloutely no idea, and Im thankful they are not the ones making the decisons......
