The video is a real guy who had a photo of his misidentified as the shooters and chose to inject himself into the conversation by making the video. His twitter is @ JEWgazing, though after confirming it was a joke he locked his account, probably because his stunt blew up in his face.

As for the rest, we can only speculate at this point, but people can do weird things. Mark David Chapman shooting John Lennon is an example. With internet radicalization, people can take on bizarre beliefs.

Sort of interest to me, I grew up (until 8 years old or so) in a house literally a half block from where the shooter lived. I haven't lived there for 40 years, but know the area and township really well. Strictly middle class area, Pittsburgh suburbia and a mixed blue collar/white collar sort of place with a 50/50 make up between democrats and republicans.
