That's true! They did an amazing job, considering everything below her upper teeth was removed in the accident. That is one skilled undertaker.

I'm pretty sure that where I've circled on the image below, is her nose + most likely her mouth. So they would have just flipped the flap back over + then maybe attached it to the blob of flesh on the right (which I am assuming is her jaw/chin).

Well, I notice in her high-school graduation pic that her lips are parallel, but in the casket photo, her lower lip is slightly offset, so I guess he couldn't get all of the area back to the correct topography. But he still did a great job. |

she's laying under a plastic or glass construction possibly to prevent people touching her (face) and something would go awfully wrong. Wonder how long it took to prepare her like that as that's some proper cosmetic reconstruction |

Embalmers routinely use wax for cosmetic reconstruction, so it's possible that they just rebuilt some parts of her face from scratch. Probably easier than trying to salvage those blobs of flesh!
