Re: Philippines - 20 Year Old Died from Bone Cancer
I love DR now. All the old posts from a decade ago have really rude IDGAF comments or sexual jokes under young dead girls, but now it's full of people expressing depth of feeling for these nameless people, and it really makes all the difference.

Re: Philippines - 20 Year Old Died from Bone Cancer
Bone cancer is one of the most painful of cancers. Inside the bone, the marrow is the part of the bone which is responsible for the formation of stem cells which then mature into white, red blood cells. When the cancer overtakes that cell formation, the body does not get the cells needed to carry oxygen, hemoglobin, or white cells needed for immune function. Without these, the body does. |

What makes cancer patients waste away like that is really the chemo and the radiation, not so much the disease. Let someone not get treatment and they would most likely pass away without such a drastic change to their appearance. I'm a nurse and some patients who have stage iv cancer don't want to bother with the treatment and want to die inadvertently and in peace. Or maybe she could not afford medical attention. That would be really sad.

Live fast, die young, and leave a good-lookin’ corpse.... She was truly beautiful, though. Even in death. Mortician did a great job.

Re: Philippines - 20 Year Old Died from Bone Cancer
Okay. Point being she looked remarkably healthy for a death by cancer. Especially a severely painful cancer. Suggesting that she may have had assistance maybe. Just speculating. And as I have learned the treatment wastes the body badly. So if a person chooses certain beautiful death. By refusing treatment that would waste their body. Is that suicide? Or just choosing the way you want to go out. Whatever. It's sad that some people who seemingly have done nothing get cancer and die when there are turds and internet trolls that just linger indefinitely.
