Pedro Juan Caballero Massacre: Governor's Daughter Among Four Dead
A pickup came under gunfire while departing a clandestine gathering in Pedro Juan Caballero around dawn on October 9, 2021. Four people died in the Paraguayan city bordering Brazil. Investigators attributed responsibility to the PCC and said the attack had been meant only for the vehicle's driver, Osmar Vicente Alvarez Grance, known as Bebeto, who was allegedly connected to drug trafficking. The other victims were Haylee Carolina Acevedo Yunis, 21, a medical student whose parent was the governor of Amambay, and Brazilian classmates Rhannye Jamilly Borges de Oliveira and Kaline Reinoso de Oliveira, 22. Days afterward, a suspected participant in the shooting was killed by gunfire, and a trafficker was named as the suspected planner.  |
