Pedestrian Killed by Truck in Bahia, Brazil, February 8, 2015
A pedestrian was killed on February 8, 2015, after a truck struck three cars on a signalized urban stretch of federal highway in Bahia, Brazil. Police said the truck driver lost control, ran a red light and crushed the pedestrian, who died at the scene. The municipality, highway number and pedestrian's identity were not established. Police reported that a breath test found the driver was intoxicated, and he was arrested after the crash. The available account does not establish whether anyone in the three cars was injured or whether the driver was later convicted. The arrest was handled through a Bahia Integrated Public Security District, a joint state police facility used in municipalities outside the capital, but that institution does not establish where the collision occurred. · · · · |
