Paulette Gebara Farah, Found Dead in Her Own Bed, Mexico, March 2010
A missing-person report was filed for Paulette Gebara Farah on March 22, 2010, after the 4 year old girl disappeared from her bedroom in Interlomas, Huixquilucan, State of Mexico. She had a motor and language disability. Despite repeated examinations of the room by police and dogs, her body was discovered there nine days later, on March 31. It was wrapped in her own bedsheets, lodged between the mattress and the bed's foot. Because their statements contained inconsistencies, her mother, father and two nannies were briefly held under a judicial restriction. Each was freed, and no one was ever charged. On May 25, 2010, the state prosecutor classified the death as accidental mechanical asphyxia and closed the case. The next day, he resigned, saying his office had lost public credibility. The ruling continues to face widespread doubt in Mexico. A 2020 Netflix series dramatized the case, and her remains were cremated in 2017. |

Re: Paulette Gebara Farah, Found Dead in Her Own Bed, Mexico, March 2010
