Parents, Paranoia and Murder
By the morning of 1 May, 1945, the Russians had encircled the Berlin bunker, and were within one-hundred meters of its entrance. The night before, 30 April, Adolf Hitler and his new bride, Eva Braun, had committed suicide, leaving Reichminister, Josef Goebbels, as the newly-appointed Chancellor. Goebbels, in his paranoia, believed the Russians would torture and murder his children if captured. As a result, he along with his wife, Magda, decided to act. At around bedtime, Chancellor Goebbels ordered an SS physician to inject each child with morphine, putting them into a deep sleep. Then, later, Mrs. Goebbels along with another SS member, with pliers in hand, crushed a vial of potassium cyanide in each child's mouth. Within minutes all six were dead. It is believed although never proven, the oldest daughter, Helga, might have put up a struggle, before her mother and the SS assistant overpowered her. Sometime during the same night, Chancellor Goebbels and his wife committed suicide by swallowing cyanide. Of all the captured children of high-ranking Nazis at the end of the war, no matter who the captors, be it Russian, American, French or British, not one child was ever harmed. Re: Parents, Paranoia and Murder
I found that crack about her breasts to be quite unsettling. This post has nothing to do with sex, and everything to do with the madness some parents can perpetrate onto their children. The girl was only twelve at the time of her death, for crying out loud!
