Re: Paraguay - Decomposed Bodies of 7 Men Found in Train Container
The best part of the movie: when the steel container they're ensconsed and voluntarily locked up inside gets lifted off of the train by a crane and placed on a ship. Seven hearts drop like stones and a bunch of sweaty guys trapped together realize that they fucked up. No sweet shores of Italy anytime soon.

I'm guessing that the container was secured with a lock just before it's journey.

Re: Paraguay - Decomposed Bodies of 7 Men Found in Train Container
Every shipping container must have a seal with a unique identifying number and formal documentation (a bill of lading) with that number. Without that it will not get on a cargo ship. Usually the seal is a bolt lock although some companies just use a thin strip of aluminum with numbers stamped on it. But even if the door is only latched shut there is no way to open it from the inside. That's true for regular domestic truck trailers you see everywhere on the freeway-the latch mechanism is on the exterior of the door, tailgate, and top. I'm guessing that while the container was being loaded the guys snuck inside without anyone seeing them and hid. It wouldn't be hard to do. Once those doors shut it's unlikely they'll be opened again before reaching destination.

Re: Paraguay - Decomposed Bodies of 7 Men Found in Train Container
Yeah as someone else said without water they were dead in 3-4 days even in good conditions. Throw in a humid tight container water loss would have been greater. This would have sped up their agonising deaths. They never even got to a hungry stage. Perhaps they started to turn on each other in delirium/desparation and fights broke out. |
