The Panther's Loose Ends

A mid-level cartel boss known as 'The Panther' was apprehended last week and taken into custody after law enforcement officers found several firearms and a lot of dope in his car. His 18 year old girlfriend was with him at the time and was also arrested.

She was released without explanation 2 hours later and he remains incarcerated currently. Two days after her release, her body was discovered face down outside a house. Her head was posed on a wooden plank nearby.

The police and forensics reports indicated that she was tortured fairly extensively before death, with several bruises and burn marks to her face and parts of her body. Several of her fingers were broken as well. Her shorts were unbuttoned and soiled with blood and urine, but not semen. Her genitals had no signs of injury, so it is presumed that she was not raped.

The report also indicated that she was decapitated while alive and conscious in the exact place where her body was found, based on signs of struggle in the dirt and the presence of various bodily fluids around the corpse.

It is unknown who had her killed, but the current theory is that she dropped a dime on The Panther to get out of the clink and didn't manage to run far enough before his sicarios caught up with her.

But it could just as easily have been his enemies who killed her.
