Pakistan - Teenage Boy Abducted + Found Dead nearly 3 Months Later
On 14th August 2019 in Quetta (Pakistan), S.G. was kidnapped on his way home. 'S's family received a call from his abductors, demanding a ransom of "5 Crore PKR". The police managed to arrest the culprits, but nearly 2 months later + no sign of 'S' dead or alive, they were released. The family finally managed to pay the ransom, however, things took a turn for the worse 2 days later. On 4th November, 'S's body was found in the Maizai Addah area. This was the latest heartache the family have had to endure. 3 years previously, 'S's brother was killed in a bomb blast. His father had been abducted for ransom in 2007 + then again in 2010. Fortunately for the family, they were able to pay both the ransoms in time.

J.Paul Getty's grandson was kidnapped by an Italian gang, and while they were negotiating a ransom, he was sold to ANOTHER gang, and then THEY sold him to ANOTHER gang. They finally did get him back, minus an ear.

If I remember correctly, J Paul Getty refused to pay the ransom because he said if he paid it, then all of his grandchildren would be kidnapped. He lent the money to his son and made him pay it back with interest.
