Operation: Black Widow
Late in the evening of 10th July 2011, 32 year old computer technician Joelson Ramos de Souza, was killed. His body was found dismembered the following morning in the bathroom of a motel. His head + fingers were missing. Joelson had left the house in a taxi to meet Savana who he had been in contact with over the internet. Savana was in a relationship with Raimundo. They had set up the date, arrived in a taxi together + booked separate rooms. Both the taxi drivers helped police with the investigation. After 32 days of investigations (named Operation: Black Widow), 25 year old Savana Natália Barbosa Cruz + her 33 year old boyfriend Raimundo Nonato Ferreira dos Santos were arrested + accused of the murder. Savana was interrogated for almost three hours, wept several times + told details of the night of the crime. "I asked for something to be taken in the minibar to drink, so I gave the signal to Raimundo". The couple appealed their first sentencing. Savana blamed Raimund for planning + executing Joelson in a testimony rendered on 27th January 2015. Savana was sentenced to 40 years in prison + Raimundo to more than 38 years. |

Re: Operation: Black Widow
Thought the maximum prison sentence can’t be longer than 30 years in Brazil or sentences should be combined and made no longer than 30 years. Guess they changed that 1940 law finally |
