You'd think it would be depressed, impulsive emo kids; but NOPE: the elderly are the most statistically likely to commit suicide. I could be mistaken, but I seem to remember from my college days that the rates remain pretty constant across multiple countries and cultures. Despite all of our social progress and advances in modern medicine, deep down we humans are still somewhat aware of the fact that nature never intended for us to live as long as we do nowadays. Of course, nature probably never intended for some of our lives to be so fucking boring and mundane either. Humans: 1, Mother Nature: 0. She sure fucked up, didn't she?  |
