Old Lady Bound + Gagged, Died of an Asthma Attack Whilst Being Robbed
In Caldas Novas, on the morning of Wednesday 28th March 2018, 65 year old Maria Aparecida Alves da Silva was found dead. Maria had been sweeping the entrance to her house when she was approached by 22 year old Vitor José Melo Carneiro + 21 year old Benicio Rodrigues. Maria had been bound + gagged. The woman had asthma + as she was gagged, she couldn't breathe properly + it led to her death. Her house had been ransacked. Nearby security cameras captured images of the murderers. They had fled the house, carrying clothes, personal belongings of Maria + a TV. They were arrested within a few hours. They had changed their clothes, but still had the ones they wore, whilst committing the crime, in their possession. Vitor was known for drug trafficking. Benicio had left prison a month ago for a gun related crime. Both confessed to the crime. Had a few deaths like this locally, addicts doing home invasions /robbing pple who have prescription opiates. One was an elderly & disabled, they tied him up and left him face down . I think he already had breathing issues. A positional suffocation. The other man was in his 30's and disabled from a car wreck and he was accidentally suffocated as two men restrained him. Unbelievable how many deaths and murders have occurred in my small town due to opiates. Used to sleep with the doors unlocked. Not no more.
