Re: Old Guy Murdered by Acid!
thing that gets me is.. i've been exposed to hcl and sulphuric acid many times.. and it didn't start burning for up to 10 minutes.. seems like it would take at least an hour to burn away top layers of skin.. which should be plenty enough time for you to find a way to get it off of you |

Re: Old Guy Murdered by Acid!
Depends on how dilute it is. Believe me, there is no way you would wait 10 minutes with even 40% of either of those, because you'd be watching your hand, or whatever.....disappear |

Re: Old Guy Murdered by Acid!
I did say the guy died a lingering and painful death, so yeah it probably took time. As for the kids trying it out, only quoting the story. Availability? In a country like Venezuela? Some coke changes hands and bingo, you got your 98% reagent grade from a chem student. Haven't you seen the many pics of the acid throwing epidemic in Pakistan where they definitely use hardware store grade (35-40%). |
