Officer Shoots Dead a Couple at a Nightclub in Tucurui, Brazil, 2023
Early on Saturday, November 4, 2023, penal police officer Jonathan Brandao de Oliveira, 31, shot military police soldier Eduardo Costa dos Santos and his girlfriend, Ketolly Rocha, to death inside the Boate do Seu Joao nightclub in Tucurui, Para state, Brazil. Rocha had previously been Oliveira's partner, and reporting linked the shooting to jealousy following their separation. Oliveira escaped but died soon after being stopped by a military police patrol; local outlets disagree on whether he died in a shootout or by shooting himself after being cornered. |
