Nurse Found Shot Dead in the Doorway of Her Home, Paraiba, Brazil, 2013
Maria Aparecida Duarte de Oliveira, a 25-year-old nurse, was found dead on the morning of May 20, 2013, at the kitchen door of the house where she lived with her father in Sitio Sao Romao, a rural community in Santa Cruz, Paraiba, Brazil. She had a single gunshot wound to the neck, and Military Police found a .38-caliber revolver beside her body. Civil Police delegate Aulinson Tabosa attended the scene with forensic experts. He said the circumstances remained a mystery and that a forensic examination would be needed to determine what happened. Oliveira's body was taken to the medical examiner's office in Patos for an autopsy. No later official conclusion, arrest or charge was reported. |

The video says she's 25 years old. Apparently her cellphone and motorcycle disappeared after she shot herself, so the police is further investigating the case.

Facts are often times an under-represented commodity in Brazilian periodicals. I read conflicting reports that she was 22, 23, 24, and 25. So I went with the predominant opinion, which was 23. Likewise, the majority of reports were reporting it as a suicide, but I dropped the word 'apparent' into the subject header because there seemed to be room for doubt. Thanks for clarifying the video's position, even if it conflicts somewhat (or at least addresses additional facts) with the main report I used for info. |

Very sad to see her lifeless body dangling there blood still trickling down from her head  She was quite a pretty young woman and its sad to see another young life wasted may she rest in peace
