The double standard really is stupid. It's just like people who eat meat like cow, chicken and pig without thinking twice but TOTALLY freak out when people in other countries eat something like a cat or a guinea pig. Why does one type of animal have more value than another, they all feel pain. People attach sentimental value to animals who are viewed as "pets" but maybe someone in another country has a pig or a cow as a pet. That wouldn't stop you from eating those animals though, would it?

Just like this, why is it worse for an American soldier to die(something they very well knew was a possibility when they joined the army) but it's fine to look at or even crack jokes about people who died in an accident or murder in Brazil or Thailand or Mexico...they also had families and friends who cared about them and were/are probably devastated over their loss.
