Im sure most parents wouldn't want their childs mutilated body pics all over the net either.
It wasn't only that which was their problem... they were also devastated by all the comments made about the girl:
Some were from the truly demented folks who have no empathy for anything and then other comments were just people being morbid and "funny" and who would never act that way in front of the parents who would never understand this type of humor, etc.

I read a little more in another article about the day she took off. She had been drinking and also had some prescription drugs on board when she left her house drunk. She was mad at her parents.

As all teenagers do, she thought she was invincible. Turns out she wasn't as invincible as she thought.

Don't blame the parents. They didn't make any decisions that cost her life, she did.
