Least the unfortunate chap died instantly. I'm always morbidly fascinated to know what exactly people do feel. I came across a great forensics site that tried to illustrate just that using loads of different scenarios. The train fatality was terrible. They worked out a victim can potentially suffer 100/100 pain for up to a scary 20 minutes max before death! Obviously their findings are dependant on hundreds of factors. This case was someone with an intact head and trunk but severed limbs and ruined abdomen. Blood loss was dramatically slowed as vessels were in contraction. As for the air crash victims, agh!! Wish I'd posted that site here.
