Well Kelly, I am no detective but those jeans are the missing link imo;

The bloke could not tolerate being laughed at for wearing those ridiculous strides any longer, so he left them where they were found and jumped to his death, and hoped to instill 'survivors guilt' upon all that had mocked his fashion statement.
