Myanmar - Family of 5 Shot Dead by Burmese Army
On 22nd March 2019, the Burmese Army attacked the village of Arakan (Myanmar). The villagers were terrified + fled for their lives. 5 members of the same family sought cover in a makeshift trench at their home. However, they were found + shot dead. The deceased were a 95 year old lady, her 2 grandsons (aged 19 + 23) + their parents (both aged 55). The couple's 10 year old daughter was left orphaned.

I wonder why they chose to let the daughter live, or if she just wasn’t there. Either way, very sad.

95 years old. She would have known of WWII as a child. It must have shaped her experience throughout the rest of the 20th century. She lived through a lot of history in her little corner of the world. A sad and violent end to her long life. I hope the little girl is able to make lemonade from the lemons she’s been given |
