My Lai Massacre Photos, March 16 1968: Civilian Victims in Son My, Vietnam
Ronald Haeberle took the color photographs during the My Lai massacre on March 16, 1968, when US Army troops from Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 20th Infantry killed unarmed Vietnamese civilians in My Lai hamlet, Son My village, Quang Ngai province, South Vietnam. The death toll was 347 by the US Army's count and 504 by the memorial at Son My. Haeberle, an Army photographer, used his personal camera that day. His color slides appeared in the Cleveland Plain Dealer in November 1969 and became key evidence in the scandal. Lt. William Calley was the only person ever convicted. The dead woman in the first photograph was identified as Nguyen Thi Tau by Haeberle and by her son, survivor Tran Van Duc. She was buried in a mass grave with two of her daughters. |

Re: My Lai Massacre Photos, March 16 1968: Civilian Victims in Son My, Vietnam
Oh indeed. Because British soldiers never massacred and abused colonials in Africa, India, New Zealand, and various parts of Asia. And that isn't even mentioning Bloody fucking Sunday. I'm not saying that American troops haven't and don't commit various atrocities. But you can take your arrogant, misplaced, assfucked British high horse and shove it up your almighty ass. You and your goddam nation are in absolutely no fucking place to throw stones on the matter of military atrocities. Cunt. |
