Hardly fake. It's quite plausible. Look at the neck!. There is no room left for breathing or even proper blood flow. The knot can be anywhere. You doubt it then try this yourself. And what's with the talk about sitting down? Does anyone see a chair? You see a table that blocks the view a bit from the front. Side view I see no chair. And the hands on the table? Perfectly normal after the persons body relaxes. The alcohol would of damped any death throes.

I say real. The neck stretching and digging into back of neck typical of hanging. Also, lots of ropes stretch, and what started high often ends low.

First off her neck is completely pinched down so there is no way she can get proper breathing or blood flow. And her face shows signs of capillary damage from the noose. After the heart stops pumping the blood will ease back past the valves and relieve the pressure but while she is dying her face will be very purple. And the hands would of come up in a death clench until she actually completely dies. Then gradually relax down to the table. And the bottle of rum looks like she drank quite a bit.
