Muzafar Avazov: Death in Custody at Jaslyk Prison, Uzbekistan, 2002
Two men imprisoned in Uzbekistan for religious activity, Muzafar Avazov, 35, and Husnidin Alimov, 34, died during August 2002 while in custody at Jaslyk prison in Karakalpakstan. Their remains were released to their families on August 8. Avazov's relatives documented his condition while washing his body in preparation for burial. According to Human Rights Watch, both prisoners had been placed in punishment cells. The organisation said Avazov was missing fingernails and had a large wound behind his head, bruising on his neck and forehead, and burns across his arms, lower back, buttocks and legs. Doctors who examined him told the organisation that immersion in boiling water was the only possible cause of scalding like that. Alimov's family received limited access to view his body, while police encircled the burial. The Uzbek Procurator General's office performed an autopsy and investigated, but chose not to initiate criminal proceedings. It said the wounds occurred during a fight lasting several minutes among inmates, when boiling water being stored inside the cell spilled. Nobody faced prosecution. A British embassy-commissioned forensic report identified numerous blunt-force injuries compatible with a beating and scalding that indicated hot water was applied while the person was restrained inside a vessel. In correspondence with the Uzbek government, the head of the OSCE's human rights office characterized the official version as extremely unlikely. |

I agree prison life in some countries can be harsh. Most of the time, for this kind of treatment, the guy could've been a rapist, child molester or even an abuser of women. You did well in your pic and info, **Lady |

The exact same thing almost happened to me, except I have never been in prison and have never been close to being killed. Otherwise, the coincidences are alarming.
