wow! i love b/w pics specially japanese and chinese ones dunno why, shame no info behind why they did it :( 1929 hmmm wasn't that the start of prohibition and the american stock market crash? please correct me if i am wrong (i usually am lol )

That is most likely the very reason for what they did - shame - Japanese-Americans on the west coast were still VERY traditional in that time period, so the old dishonor upon the whole clan thing still held sway. 1929 was the year of the Crash, but long after prohibition started (though long before it ended), and just before the depression proper hit. You're more than close enough to not really be wrong though. |

I have that book. It's all black and white. It's called "Death Scenes; A Homicide Detective's Scrapbook" I've seen other pics on this site that came from this book.
