That is most likely the very reason for what they did - shame - Japanese-Americans on the west coast were still VERY traditional in that time period, so the old dishonor upon the whole clan thing still held sway. 1929 was the year of the Crash, but long after prohibition started (though long before it ended), and just before the depression proper hit. You're more than close enough to not really be wrong though. |
