On the afternoon of Thursday (12) a motorcyclist died after being involved in a serious accident on the BR-470, in Gaspar in Santa Catarina (120 km from Florianopolis). The collision occurred at around 16:30, at kilometer 42 of the highway. The victim was identified as a resident of the city of Itajaí and was riding a bike in when it collided head-on with a Peugeot 408. The impact of the collision was so strong that the bike (and the biker) broke in two, one part on each side of the highway and the two car front tires burst and broke the windshield. The victim died instantly and also had body parts scattered along the highway.
The body was removed by the IML.
