I feel like some kind of fluid-aspiration fairy, 'cause I know I've mentioned this on at least 2 other threads, sorry for the repetition. The foam coming out of his mouth is aspirated fluid. Only the pink part is blood. The white foam is typically salivary fluid and other bodily goodies like mucus. Yum! The presence of this substance is a guarantee of some type of respiratory distress, in this case stabbing- but any other lung trauma -shooting, crushing or puncturing- will produce the same thing. But the most common occurrence of this, hands down, is seen in drowning victims. Talk to any lifeguard with a decent amount of experience and they'll know all about it, because CPR forces this crap out of the lungs even when the victim doesn't survive :( That's where I learned all about this stuff, CPR classes at the Coast Guard station! Well worth the cost and the three weeks we put into it! |
