Mother and Son Shot and Dismembered in Santa Lucia del Tuy, Venezuela, 2018
On the morning of June 18, 2018, armed men entered the home of Marbella Lucia Bolivar Segura, 39, and her 19-year-old son, Brayan Arnal Bolivar Segura, in the El Nogal sector of Santa Lucia del Tuy, Venezuela's Miranda state. They were each shot multiple times, dismembered, and their remains were deposited on the sector's main road. Press reports said Brayan Arnal Bolivar Segura had recently fought with the attackers, who had vowed retaliation. Neighbors blamed a local gang, but investigators never confirmed that allegation and no arrests were reported.
