Armed Police Hospital and other PLA Hospitals used be internal hospitals for soldiers from armed police
and army/navy etc. Later, almost all these hospitals are opened to public. Many of them have very good reputations and people have to wait a long time for a reservation. But in recent years some hospitals were asked to become 'internal' again. Not sure how many hospitals followed the orders given the fact that these hospitals are already playing an important roles in people's daily life. But when I revisited the medical center, I found it was closed to outsiders.
So I would not concern the name of the hospital. That Armed Police Hospital is located in the center of city, 4km away from the CBD. It is not some horrible detain center, just a popular hospital and everyone can enter.
