Missing University Student Found Murdered

Earlier yesterday evening, Thursday, March 6, 2014, around 7pm, police officers of the Homicide of Foz do Iguaçu, were triggered because there was information that a missing student, which was missing since the night of Sunday (02), might be dead inside an apartment on Calle Jorge Sanwais, central area of Foz do Iguaçu.

Police officers used force to enter the apartment. As soon as the door was broken, the police officers located the body of the dead student on the bed, already in an advanced state of putrefaction.

The site was isolated until the arrival of the Police Scientific and Forensic Institute. A teacher from the University visited the site and identified the student as the missing 26 year old who was studying anthropology at the Federal University of Latin American Integration (Unila), headquartered in Foz do Iguaçu.

It was verified by the technical expertise signs of violence, characterizing the possibility of homicide, because the victim's neck had a power cord round it, suggesting that the victim was strangled, however only IML's award should diagnose the actual cause of death.

According to reports, the video cameras of the building security system would have caught the student entering the building and the apartment accompanied by a man, and after some time, the man had left the building alone, using the keys of the apartment.

After the procedures, the student's body was sent to the morgue, where she was subjected to autopsy examination.

In a statement issued this Friday morning through the press office Unila decreed three days of mourning due to the death of the student. "The investigation to identify the cause and date of death are underway by the Civil Police. As a result of what happened, Unila declares official mourning for three days from this date (7). And invites the university community to provide solidarity in this difficult time, to students, especially to his fellow student, and family. "
