Sadly, a lot of people around here have been killed in coalmines this way. About 8 years ago 7 people were killed when a methane gas pocket had released. They did not have the gas meters at this time, and someone that was new to the process made a fuckup.

They had it rigged to blow, and were backing out a safe distance when one of the formen picked up on something not being right. He was making warning on the radios when the new guy lit a cigarette.

There was one bodybag brought to the funeralhome, and it contained a piece or two of each victim. Nothing really indentifiable, just hunks of flesh and bone fragments. All of the families agreed to bury them that way, that is what was odd to me.
