Re: Military Man Searches Pulverised Soldier
Live guy looks more like French camo. Dead guy has different uniform. Current Malian conflict perhaps? |

Re: Military Man Searches Pulverised Soldier
We didn´t had that picture quality back then. I think i have seen this pic from a recent war. Maybe the south ossetia war in 2008. Those souith ossetian rebels had similar cammo.

Re: Military Man Searches Pulverised Soldier
The reason I said that this was late 80s, early 90s, is because the gear and boots are exactly like what I was issued, when I first joined the military. Also, the dead guy looks black to me. I admit I could be wrong though. |

Re: Military Man Searches Pulverised Soldier
That's gotta be French camo, possibly Foreign Legion... The buttons on the trouser's cargo pockets and the web gear are spot on. TDY to Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti from June-Dec 06 |

Re: Military Man Searches Pulverised Soldier
If the photo belongs to this set Then the soldier is definitely a Béret vert of the French Foreign Legion. Given the color of the skin of the dead man, i'd say that the pic was either taken during Operation Licorne in Côte d'Ivoire (2002–2003) or EUFOR Tchad/RCA in Chad (2008/2009). I'm not sure though. |
