Michelle Lizarraga "La Bellota" Found Dead in Mazatlan Canal, September 8, 2023
Michelle Lizarraga, a social media creator known as "La Bellota," was found dead inside a submerged car in an irrigation canal near the San Francisquito community in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, on the morning of September 8, 2023. Rescuers removed her body from the vehicle and brought it to the canal bank.

The car was reported to have left the canal bank and entered the water. Her death was widely described as a drowning, but local authorities had not publicly confirmed a cause as the Sinaloa state attorney general's office investigated the circumstances. Lizarraga's age was reported inconsistently as 22 and 23.
