She had Lupus Vulgaris and she's alive in the photo. If she was deceased, she'd be lying in repose.

If you question whether or not a photo is post mortem, it isn't post mortem. Don't believe the internet hype. Victorian post mortem photos were rare but quite obvious, with the decedent lying in repose.

Only two of these photos are post mortem. It is a myth that the Victorians posed, propped and painted the dead to appear alive. True Victorian post mortem photos were rare but quite obvious with the decedent lying in repose in a bed or coffin.
