Mark Haukaas Survives UPS Truck Crash in Federal Way, December 14, 2011
Mark Haukaas, 53, survived after a UPS package car went over an embankment in the 36000 block of 1st Avenue South in Federal Way, Washington, at about 7:45 p.m. on December 14, 2011. Haukaas, who was riding as a seasonal UPS helper, was ejected and pinned between the truck and a tree for nearly 40 minutes. Rescuers used hydraulic cutting equipment to free him. The driver suffered minor injuries. Haukaas sustained two collapsed lungs, three broken ribs, multiple facial fractures, a fractured wrist and a cracked cervical vertebra. His recovery lasted nine months. He was left blind in his left eye and experienced chronic pain after his spine was fused. Haukaas was a pastor at Maranatha Grace Assembly in Federal Way and had been working part time for UPS during the Christmas season. Nobody died in the crash. |

This guy actually survived. I'll have to find the article but he was the passenger in the trucks jump seat. The brakes failed somehow
