On the morning of March 29, 2015, a man's severed head, hands and feet were found inside a bag on a street in the North Zone of Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil. The rest of his body was discovered in a nearby igarape, a small Amazonian stream or waterway. He was described as a resident of the surrounding area, but no name was reported.

The Amazonas state homicide and kidnapping division, known as DEHS, attended the scene and opened an investigation.
