Man Tried to Disarm Undercover Policeman on Bus, Gets Shot Dead
Areiópolis, São Paulo state, Brazil A man died in the early morning hours after attempting to disarm an undercover police officer on an intercity bus traveling on the Marechal Rondon Highway (SP-300). According to information from the Highway Patrol, upon noticing that the officer was armed, the individual tried to take the revolver away from him. The man was a parolee who was in a halfway house. At that moment, the two engaged in a physical struggle, and the firearm was discharged, hitting the officer in the arm. Nevertheless, the officer managed to gain control of the weapon and shot the man, who died at the scene. The officer was rescued and taken to hospital in stable condition, and has since been discharged.  ·  ·  ·  ·  · |
