A Brazilian man who stabbed a British teenager to death and cut her body into pieces while high on crack cocaine has been jailed for 21 years. Mohamed D’Ali Carvalho Santos killed Cara Marie Burke, 17, after she threatened to tell police and his mother about his drug use. He dumped her remains in a suitcase and police found a text message on his mobile phone saying ‘the b**** is in the bag’, accompanied by a smiley face. Mohamed D’Ali Carvalho Santos was sentenced to 21 years in prison yesterday for stabbing to death British teen Cara Burke, 17, and dismembering her body Miss Burke went to Brazil after she met 21-year-old Santos in London and he invited her to stay with him. The court heard that they were not a couple, but Santos confirmed sending text messages complaining that Miss Burke had backed out of plans to marry him so he could apply for British citizenship. He told the court in Goiania, central Brazil, that he had been smoking crack for four days when they started arguing at his apartment on July 25 last year. taking pictures of her body parts with his cell phone and stuffing her torso in a suitcase. One photo appeared to have been taken in a bathroom shower stall, showing Burke's severed head placed on the chest of her torso along with a bloody butcher knife.
