Man Surprised and Killed
In the early hours of Saturday (20) A 33 year old man was shot to death. According to preliminary information, the victim would have been surprised  by many shots point 40 after the end of a party that occurred close-by. He succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. The crime took place under a monitoring camera that possibly recorded all the action. The Civil Police investigates the case.

So is "surprised" a glitch in translation  Cause maybe it really was a surprise, as opposed to  -- oh yea, I was expecting that.
