37 year old Roberto Dantas da Rocha + 22 year old Jociely Pinheiro Barbosa had dated for a year + seven months. Roberto didn't take the break up well + a month later, he sent flowers to her. The next day, on 13th February 2014, Roberto had gone to Jociely's home in the hope of talking her into resuming their relationship. When he got there, he heard a man's voice, he assumed it was a neighbour. He waited outside for 40 minutes listening + when he realised that the voice was coming from inside Jociely's home, he got upset + broke in. Once inside, Roberto saw Jociely with her new boyfriend + he stabbed them both. The boyfriend, who had tried to protect Jociely, survived but was hospitalised in a serious condition. Jociely succumbed to her injuries

After committing the murder, Roberto fled + left an apology on his FaceBook page with the words: "Forgive me all ... what I did not justify ... but she said that she had no ... and I arrived she was with another ... 4 days after the murder, Roberto was in custody. He said that he was sorry. The delegate + his team took Roberto to the scene of the crime to locate the 17-inch blade pocket knife used in the murder. They also searched vacant lots + also had permission to cut the chain on a locked gate, but they couldn't find the weapon.
