Man Stabbed His Mother to Death, Before Being Lynched
Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil A 19-year-old man, João V., suspected of having mental health issues, was lynched by a 'crime court' after being suspected of stabbing his mother (some sources said adoptive mother), 47-year-old (or 45) Nádia R.A., an evangelist. She had been stabbed around nine times in the neck, and there were also defensive stab wounds on her hands. Nádia was attacked upon returning home. Another woman, identified as 'Dani', was also attacked, and was taken to hospital. João fled, but was caught and beaten by furious locals, before being transported to a wooded area, where he was killed. According to relatives, João had suffered from psychotic episodes since childhood, but he never received adequate treatment, and they had feared he would do something to his mother.            |

Lynch mobs, of course, being a great way to uphold the law. Its like putting out fires with explosives. (*) (*) Well, well, well - the example was deliberately chosen to be ironic. And please don't set me off by mentioning the Mythbusters episode on painting and detonating. |

(*) I will say that John Wayne put out a bunch of oil fires in “Hellfighters” with exploding barrels of nitro in the 60’s. They had zero special effects back then so everything was real and actual.  Is there another way to put out oil fires other than explosions!?  |
