Man Shot a Woman Dead then Was Lynched Moments Later
On 1st April 2018 in Santo Domingo, 60 year old Minerva Méndez Florián was shot dead. Minerva had been sitting in a chair at the front of her house with her husband when Freddy Cuevas Trinidad approached her + shot her dead. Another person was injured + sent to the hospital. Moments later, residents lynched the gunman. Minerva's friends + neighbours described her as a hard-working + beloved person throughout the community. Further info' on Freddy He + his brothers (Nelson, Osvaldo + Pablo) had served 10 years in prison, out of the 20 they were given, for the death of Lieutenant Demetrio Cuevas Florián in 1993. After leaving prison, Freddy was arrested again for killing a farmer + without having been sentenced, he escaped from the prison. Freddy, along with his 3 brothers, killed a boy who saw them stealing cattle. They cut off his tongue + limbs. They were all sentenced to 30 years in prison. Freddy escaped in a garbage truck + his brothers are still in prison. Freddy had been a fugitive from justice for several years. |
